Motivational Workout Songs
A Good Mixed Playlist
You've probably heard a lot of these workout songs before. Maybe some of them are new to you. They've all got a good sound and work well together in a workout playlist.
There's some rock, some alternative songs, some classics, and a hit of pop in this list of motivational workout songs.
1. Stand up and be Strong by Soul Asylum. A good warm-up song. Great lyrics:
"Stand up and be strong
It wont take long
You cant go wrong
Stand up and be strong"
2. Renegade by Styx. An oldie, but goodie. A 1979 hit can still hold it's own in the gym today.
3. Not Myself Tonight by Christina Aquilera. Okay - the video of this really creeps me out. Grody (unless that's your thing...) But the lyrics are pretty empowering.
4. Cruel Summer (Blestenation Mix) by Blestination. I really dig remixes on older songs. This one has a great beat.
5. Rock Star by N.E.R.D. Super quick paced song. Hard to tell what the heck he's saying. Don't know if I really want to, though.
6. Holiday by Green Day. There's always a few Green Day songs on my playlist. Bouncy sound.

7. Remember the Name by Fort Minor. Great chorus lyrics.
"This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!"
8. Steal my Sunshine by Len. Scratchy Voice, but not annoying. Maybe good for a cool-down song.
9. Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm. Confession: I never was a Michael Jackson fan. My kids, though, like quite a few of his songs (which boggles the hell out of me.) They do prefer this version of Smooth Criminal, though - and I admit, I like it much better than the original.
10. Click Click Boom by Saliva. Powerful voice and a chorus that'll get stuck in your head for hours.
